BELCANTO DKS (VERDI X CONCORDE)
Born in 2018, Belcanto DKS is a feisty, friendly, and curious Verdi (Quidam de Revel x Landgraf I) colt out of Belle Clara DKS (Concorde x Budweiser). He seems to have inherited his mother's boundless energy and quick learning.
Belle Clara DKS saw great success with Holly Shepherd competing up to the Grand Prix level, before retiring in perfect health to begin making superstar babies. She has racked up top placings at many a GP in the USA, jumping up to 1.50 m. She was named the Open Jumper Circuit Champion at the Gulf Coast Winter Circuit in 2015 and 2016. She is also a two-time winner of the grueling Jumper Derby at the Gulf Coast Winter Circuit.
The sire, Verdi, with rider Maikel van der Vleuten participated in many a major championship over the past 10 years and besides recording many wins at GP level, he took home to Holland an Olympic team silver, team gold at the WEG and European team gold.
Belcanto DKS is very well balanced and exhibits a wonderful attitude to work, as well as excellent style over a jump. Not being a big horse, he will be best suited for a rider of smaller stature. We expect him to become a really quick and careful jumper, one that will work tirelessly for his rider, bringing him / her many happy moments, both in and out of winners enclosure.
